Default B20 ITR with Pro1s..

Hello everyone,

Ive just recently put this motor together, she made a nice 214whp and ran consistent 13.3 on street tires r888s.

I feel the pro1s make loads of midrange power and not enough up top, ive been thinking to switch to buddyclub 4s. What do you guys think to this switch? Im not bothered about low end or midrange the b20 makes enough torque in those areas as it is, im just looking for raw all out power up top.

Look forward to hearing your views.

Thanks

I think pro2 could be the only to have more power

you could take a look at this https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/precisionautocanada-com-pro1-vs-pro2-dynotest-2684800/

Realistically, do you think the bc4's will run with the pro2s??

Because they wont, the pro2's provide more mid - top range then the bc4's .. the normal debet would have been pro1 vs bc4's in which the bc4's would have been a better choice.. the bc4's are smaller then the pro2's..

pro2's vs the bc5 is a different story.

Has anyone used rocket cams with a B20? How would the BC5's work with this setup, not enough compression?

What model? M22X's are very much on the same level as Pro1's. Not sure if you will see much of a top end gain like you are looking for.

Pro2's will make more power than M22X.

I'd say try Buddy ClubSpec 4's, they have longer duration than SK2P2, with less lift....so it seems they would give a smoother power-band, less chance of knocking your pistons (say if your camgear bolts slowly become loose), work with most dual valve springs (Omniman dual valve springs are rated up to 12.5mm lift and are way more affordable thank skunks), and increase overlap which is good for high rpm engines.

Spec 4: Duration = Int:306deg Exh:302deg
Lift = Int: 12.3mm Exh:11.8

SK2P2: Duration = Int: 277deg Exh: 284deg
Lift = Int:13.0mm Exh: 12.4mm

Just my two cents ...by the way this is all theoretical knowledge based on sound reading on cam profiles and timing (don't knock me cause i'm sure who ever designed your cams took this "text based" info into heavy consideration when engineering your cams).

Thanks for the info dude, I feel like buying all 3 cams. I think im going to go with the rockets for now, and then hopefully in spring ill have my dyno and do some tests between the pro2s and bc4's. See which out of the 3 work best

P1 and m22 are not the same class, m22 is a lot bigger in my book, it is like P2
How do U know for sure P2 would make more then m22?!

Forget the marketing BS, most cams are light years away from given specs (what only represent a little portion of the whole picture).

On paper, gross lift over duration and cam profile design. The M22X may have more duration, but the 'area under the curve' between IVO/IVC and EVO/EVC is greater on the Pro2's.

From subjective reasoning and experience, the builds I have done/tuned with M22X's have been good, but Pro2's have been a bit stronger, especially in the low-mid range.

Either cam is a great choice. But I am confident Pro2's will make more power.
