HID one side keeps going out.
Okay So i have a Xentec HID kit, I also have a relay harness installed to power the HID ballast. Sometimes like once a week I notice that one of the HIDs go out, but no when I restart it, it always come back on. Until today, it was really rainy (i live in seattle) and I notice that my ride side keeps going out, but it always come back on when I restart it.
I checked all my connections, grounds, and wiring they seem fine.
What I was wondering is can a weak alternator and/ or battery cause this? Because I remember I read that The hid ballast have a safety thing where it automatically turns off when it doesn't have enough power or its not constant.
anyone have a clue? I mean I would think that since I have a relay harness I wouldn't expect these problems..

Yes sir, I got about 20 sets of xentec in stock at my house, they use to have no problems at all, but recently, I had to ship back a good 12 ballast back due to flickering and dead ballast.
Hmm.. well I put in a replacement ballast that I had the the flickering and turning off still happens. Can it be the bulb? I will switch the bulb sides once it dries up. But im wondering why my passenger light comes back on after I restart them..

i was recently haveing the same problem.. switched out 3 different ballast and still would turn off but when i restart the car turn right back on... i switched the hid bulb and havnt had a problem since then
thanks for the help so far.
I was thinking can It be the bulbs? or relay harness? I just switch the bulb sides, to attempt to pinpoint the problem so far it hasnt went out.. im soo stumped...
cheaper HID = stressful.
Okay so I reading about other people having flickering problems with Xentec HID, and I read that this guy that had problems wired his ground 3 ground wires to 3 different parts.
well, on my passenger side where the relay harness is, I wired the oem turn on plug ground wire, and the power ground wire to the same exact bolt on the side wall of the engine bay. would that have any effect?

if your hid keeps dying out then most likely its the bulb, but if it flickers, but doesnt die out then most likely it is the ballast.
