Steering or brake squeal problems
Hi all,
Several weeks ago while driving home, I pressed the brakes and heard sort of a grinding sound. This continued for several days, the sound only being audible at speeds under 25mph. Then the grinding stopped. Some friends said my caliper was sticking, so I ordered one but haven't yet installed it, now I'm not sure if I should. On my way to work for the past few days I noticed sort of a squeal, but only when I turn the wheels to the right, once I straighten the wheels out again, the squealing stops, and there is no noise when turning to the left. It happens at any speed, so just the minor corrections while driving down the road make it squeal. It annoying and I was wondering if you guys had any ideas. I have a 92 Accord LX, 4-door. Thanks

Have you even looked at the brakes yet? How much pad do you have left? It may be the wear indicators. Worst case is you've gone beyond the friction material and pad backing plate is starting to eat into the rotors. Take the wheels off, check 'em out, then we'll be able to help you better.
