900 original mile, 99 SH on ebay
that thing is cool but i dont belive it. its probably a scam or maybe not it might be true. but if it is true i would love to see it. it would be one of a kind.
thanks for the share

looks legit, sounds legit, deposit matches those of real dealerships along with dealer conditions. Plus, the actual car DOES look like it only has 900 miles on it.
You couldn't pay me to buy that car.....
You know what happens to engines that don't get used? Everything NOT metal is in horrible shape. We used to take in these 20k miles/5yr old cars that needed more work than AVERAGE driven cars.

I've been seeing this posted up for the past 2 weeks on several different forums...I didn't even need to click the link to know what this thread was about

its a fake... look at the vin.. why would honda use the 4601 honda prelude made that year for a showroom model to never be sold. they would use like the frist 100 of that year made made.. not just some random one in the middle of the pack.
plus they really think some ones gonna pay 25 for it? even new some one would of talked the dealer down to like 22 lol there retarded

Lol, what a waste of a click. Why the hell would someone pay that much for a 1999 car? **** I could get 2 smart cars, and ram them into each other, and Id be more satisfied. :p
There is something funny about that. 900 miles, look at the collection of rust on the front suspension and header area. Usally when the bolts that hold the front suspension area, have rust residue on them, its because they have been taken off. There is a coating or something on there, and the coating gets damaged when you remove them and than retorque them.
Plus for 900 miles, there is a few scratches in the interior I noticed, and the interior is faded.

but i mean i guess... if i changed my cluster. and put in my cloth seats (b.c my leathers show wear on the fornt seats) and painted the car i could say it only had "9" miles and youd belive it 2.. and b.c its a 95 with "9" on it that makes it even more rare and i can ask like 26,000 for it!!!
no body belives if b.c whens the last time u saw a commen daily driven car thats 10 years old with less then even 30,000 miles thats 300 times more miles and thats bairly anything and guess what... iv never seen it
so if ur convinced that there is a commen car like a prelude that has under 1000 miles on it (witch would be 300 times less then a car with 30,000 miles on it witch would be like "finding a needel in the hay stack" anyways) -
and that the reason that its this low in mileage is b.c no one has ever owned it and its been in hondas showroom for 10 years
-witch how a car sitting even gets 900 miles is also kinda sketchy. my cars been sitting for a year and hasent seen one mile soooooooo how dose that work?
- and like i said b4 honda just decied to take the 4601th 99 prelude made in 99 to be its display? no they would take one of the first ones made that year not one made in the middel of the year
and even if its real.. REALLY i wanna meet the idiot whos gonna pay 25k for this car... when u can get a real low mileage prelude for like 7000
edit* also how did a privately own dealer get a hold of this car from HONDAS training facility? and why would they give it up... i guess maybe they found a 97 with 100 orginal miles and traded it out
Why is everybody so angry? hahahaha i just thought it was cool seeing a brand new honda prelude for sale .....Im sure they prolly fired it up from time to time and drove it to keep everything lubed and what not......which would explain the small amounts of rust etc....maybe not ,idk but it seems legit to me
^ Exactly, i am sure they wouldn't let it just sit. If i was older, still loved ludes as much as i do, and had 25k i probably would fly down to the states and drive it back up to Canada. I would have one of the only preludes with less than 1000 miles. Plus i wouldn't put a deposit down, i would just fly to the dealer since it is not going anywhere fast, and if it was a scam, i'd get a free vacation. Any serious buyer would basically do exactly what i just described.
Well maybe not to you but to a prelude enthusiast its the equivelent of a muscle head finding a 69 camaro with 900 original miles covered in a barn in the middle of south dakota! LOL!!! I would love to go get it but i just bought my first house....and im getting married in march so , yeah pretty sure its not happening!
I can understand someone wanting a mint camero, that will sell for 50k easy. But if this car surfaced, in say 50 years, it might be a different story. The car itself isnt even consider "Historic"
My 92 Lude, is going to hit the 20 year mark in 2012. When it does I can get either the Historic Plates, or the Antique Plates, I forget which comes first.
When you get those plates on your car, you are exempt from getting it inspected by the state.
Antique plates, which I think are the older of the 2 are for 30 year old cars, and up. I forget the exact year's in which you can get them.

It's the real deal. It states clearly in the ad it was at a Honda training facility. That means people who work at dealerships come to these training facilities to learn how to work on specific cars. This cars was one of those.
If you doubt this, do a google search...there are a number of Honda employees who have posted pics of low mileage Honda's at training facilities. Try searching for this phrase: "Honda training center in weston" You should see an example of what I described on a South Florida bike forum.

Even as an enthusiast, you have to admit this isn't a good investment. I just don't see how it could be justified. BTW I own a Prelude SH.
I don't think I would ever put antique tags on a car. From what I understand the circumstances that you can drive the car under are limited. No daily drivng.

The reason it only has 900 miles is because it was at a training facility as it said in the auction. So nobody knows how many times it was disassembled or examined and put back together.
Nice car though, it reminds me of what my SH looked like when I first bought it.

Lol at some of the guys in this thread. Car is legit. Depending on how much you love preludes will determine if you would buy it or not. Cars are hardly ever good investments... more like 99% of the time bad. So bringing that up is just ignorant in itself. 26K can get you a hole lot more car in today's world but once again, it would go back to how much you like preludes.
they stop makin them prelude,so they're are rare on my list.especailly a type-sh.just cause the prics says 22k u still can negocitate with them.looks tight though
aside from that SH just search prelude / all of ebay motors/best match.....
check out the silver 94 si .....damn it looks as mint as my 96 did when i bought it if not better
