i was looking at this music video, and to me the bmw looks sick, does anyone knows how is this paint called, who makes it, and how expensive would it be to paint, a engine bay ???

1) Wow what an absolutely awful song
2) Its a "chrome" paint. Many different companies make such paint.

 

is it expensive, compared with a regular paint ?

 

video is disabled, but judging by the chrome coment, and that its a bmw, i think its the ALSA corperations M3. The site is alsacorp.com i beleive, or just google it, they have amazing stuff, it should be mirra chrome or chrome fx, its not real expensive, the quart kit is i beleive around $800 bucks, just be sure you have it done by a very experienced shop. I just placed an order for everythig to do it in cincy, and they told me Ill be the only shop in cincinnati that can spray it. Ill be doing a 'busa in th enext few weeks and plan to use the remainder on my engine bay as well.

 

its actually a bmw, 6 series, and the video its called, carmen, by sido.

 

watched it this morning, same paint I beleive, looks identical to the product that ALSA offers.

 

would it be the same process, than regular paint, or is there something i should know, before i try and buy it..

 

if you're gonna use that chrome paint... your car really needs to be straight as an arrow. because that chrome paint will proudly highlight all waves and dents.

also its not the same process as painting regular paint. i forget whats involved but its different

 

its similar to spraying normal paint, but its a 3 stage process, where you have to have 3 dedicated guns to each process and they can not be used for anythign else, need to have a 100% dirt free environment, and you use distilled water with it as well, they explain the process on their site if you want to read into it more.
