Default Is getting a tune worth it at this point?

JDM b18c
stock JDM GSR ECU p72

AEM Cold Air intake
Blox Type R intake manifold

JDM 4-1 header
ITR exhaust with JDM cat

I got the stock ITR exhaust cause i wanted a nice quite ride, im not planning on changing it.

with these minimal mods, would it really make a difference if i got a tune?

I do not the have ecu chipped, no tuning program as well, so i would take that cost into consideration as well.

At this point, im thinking its not worth it to spend the money on a tune.

Im thinking about getting some cams since the head has ITR valvetrain. Any recomendations for a daily driver? Looking to get some nice midrange gain. (I would obviously need to get a tune when i add cams)

Thanks guys.

Default soon . . .

It will definitely be worth it when you get cams; wait until then. Oh, and for cams, you should consider BC3+. I generally recommend aftermarket springs for them, but a lot of people are running them with ITR springs without issues. They are great DD cams with a strong mid-range and don't need a lot of compression to make power.

Best of luck with your project.

I tune wouldn't hurt, but sounds like you have bolt-ons. A tune probably wouldn't mean much more than adjusting fuel pressure assuming you had an adjustable fpr.

If it were me, I wouldn't bother with a tune unless you did more to help it breathe like headwork (port/polish), cams, etc.

thats what i suspected fellas.

Thanks for the input, i think ill wait until i get more goodies.

One more thing, in the future, if i have headwork done, cams, etc

Ill still make good power, just not as much with the stock ITR exhaust right?

I do not want this car to be loud, Apexi ws2 is only 2.25 inch , which is the same as the
ITR anyway.

Would i just be hindering power a little if i kept the stock exhaust?

Or is this gonna reduce the power gaines by like 50% for something significant like that?

A few HP makes no difference to me, but if its something crazy, then i might reconsider.

A tune would make a difference. A tune on a stock engine makes a difference. You could easily see a gain of +15whp after a good tune. Car will run better overall, and be more efficient.
