Wow! Extreme Guide Wear - Beware
I don't know which Vendors are using these valves but I personally feel like you should stay away from these. They seem to me to be acting more like a "broach" on this guide.
I have never seen guides so wasted before. And valve seals too.
I received this head to freshen the valve job and when I took it apart noticed the guides being wooped.
If we were doing valves like this, we would have alot of warranty issues coming.
I had to shoot a video of this, just because I couldn't believe it.

sinus calls them "snakeskin superfinish" valves lol
the grooves are meant to retain oil for added lubrication and reduced friction
looks like they do the exact opposite lol
they basicaly said its a cheap alternative to expensive coatings normally applied to valve stems for reduced friction because they can machine theese grooves in house w/ their current equiptment
guess you get what you pay for.....

wow, good post cnc. someone is looking to drop valves in this market lol . that would make me move some furniture around my house on a new motor.
stick with what works, and whos supporting this industry.

supertech valves are one of the worst
they break and drop all the time....
LOL...
That head is actually ours and there is some depth into what took place on this.
We USE to use these SINUS valves which were made for Go PowerMotorsports at that time (which they no longer do because of this issue), which now these valves are only being sold through BluePrint as they now have an exclusive on SINUS Valves.
We found out these valves caused excessive guide wear that eventually led to engine failure, especially in High RPM motor. With an idea of how long these have been in this motor, it was only 2 dyno sessions and 2 events. On the last session on the second pull, The valves broke and caused head damage and destroyed the head our brand new piston (only in number 4). Since we noticed this issue we are now only using Supertech valves. We originally thought that this was something that would benefit use with the reduction in friction, but in the end, caused more damage then it was worth.
As for being cheap, those are titanium nitrate coated and snaked skin, and still cost a lot. however, none of that means much anymore from having issues like this right? lol

you are taking a risk of catastrophic failure by using supertech valves
as others have said, the heads break off all the time
supertech valves are cheaper for a reason
i would hate to see you have another engine failure especially due to a valve issue again....
