Default tire sizes 185/65/14-185/70/14

Hello, I used to have a Honda accord 91. I bought winter tires for it last year, got one season out of them, and bought new tires for it in april. It finally had enough at 250K miles, so I bought a used Civic. it's a 97. The accord, used 185/70/14, the civic uses 185/65/14's... It need tires, i was looking for some, but a friend of mine seems to think that I might be able to use the 185/70's on the civic??

What Do you think? Same width, but I don't know about the Ratio or how that works, I'd like to save some money....

i would not put that big of tire on a civic ever.

personally never go up on the middle number.

My del sol came with 185-60-14's I upgrade to 195-60-14's. (width, sidewall, rim size)

I'll never go back to 185.... next though is upgrade to a 15 or 16 with 205's and a nice big brake kit....

you do realize that your "middle number" did go up right. the middle number is a ratio not a number. it is a percentage of the tire width. so you going with a wider tire with the same middle number makes your sidewall slightly larger.

185/60/14 Thats the size I use for winter on my honda steelies
I believe thats the lowest profile you can do on a 14 for everyday use tires.
