This is the heart of Sport Compact Drag Racing. This is how it all started. Good ol' trash talking. From the streets. This is what inspires people. This is where the passion starts. From being the king of the street to the king of the quarter mile. Let's not forget how this all came about and lock the Rado 6 sec thread. The source was the streets. The excitement came from the streets and spilled over to the tracks. Controversy is always good for the sport and the only way to prove it is to bring it on the track against the quickest guns in the world.

Now, I'm going to think aloud. Would'nt it be cool if John Brown of the NSCRA or Frank Choi of BOTI called me up and we organized a race in PBIR or E-Town for the beginning of 2010. Maybe 2-3 races total for 2010. We organize match races against the fastest and quickest PROFWD's of the World. Had them talk mad politically correct trash talking to each other who was the quickest and fastest. With Chris Rado's 6 second run this should stir some controversy and best of all some major entertainment value. I would suggest the following likely competitors to compete:

-"Quickest and fastest till Rado's 6"
-2007 NHRA PROFWD Champ
-Best Time: 7.10@214mph

"Since Gary was king Rado should take him down first....heads up."

2.MARTY LADWIG (GM)

-First in the 200's for FWD
-Best ET: 7.16@203mph

3.Ed Bergenholtz (Mazda)
-2005-2006 NHRA PROFWD Champ
-World's Quickest and Fastest Import till Rado's 6
-Best ET: 7.25@198mph
-Best 60 foot I think ever: 1.15

4.Jason Hunt (GM)
-I have'nt talked to Charlie yet.

I think its a good thing Rado broke the 6 second barrier. It's good for Sport COmpact Drag Racing..........The only thing left to do is get these other PROFWD cars match racing against King Rado. It will be a helluva good fight in 2010!

Let's see what Rado has to say about this. I want to hear it right from him and not one of his guys.

 

Brent Rau would smash all FWD competitors. I just dont think it's a fair fight. I love FWD cars, but think about all the RWD cars-Hard Target, MAZWORX, etc. I think the FWD cars will be competitive and make it interesting.

Bring Bothwell back into the ecotec racing program with Ron, Marty, or Nelson, (please dont take any offence if I left out any of the "newer" current, Ecotec drivers) driving the car and we'll see who's in the 6s.... While your at it take away all the stupid penalties the ecotecs get so it's an even playing ground.

Big motivational boost to all FWDs especially for you PROFWD guys(now with Rado's break-thru, all you pfwd will break it for sure). Everyone is just getting faster and faster.....even SFWD(lots of 8sec cars now). One guy breaks it and it's like a chain-affect.... It's you top contenders in profwd that inspires all of us.

Now all we need is a Honda up there with the profwds...too bad Honda of America doesn't support the Drag Racing scene. ;(

now where talking about going 6's. i love to see u guys duke it out to the 6's!

this is what made import racing so special to me and many others, to see records being broken. everytime i came to battle there was always someone trying to send a message of being on top. fights in the staging lanes, **** talking on the streets, to breaking records. it was the name of the game. magazine publishing almost every month about someone breaking new ground in fwd racing. simply amazing you guys.
but i still hate you all for going sideways.

Not all cars are as fast as Brent's..
there's alot of low 7 sec modified cars and the profwd are going just as fast, so it would be very exciting...

 

You what would be great all those 7 sec. PFWD cars vs a 7 sec RWD cars a shoot out would be great it would bring all the sport compact car fans out to the track and it will be the best of both world.

I think it's awesome that the racers and people with love for the sport come up with great ideas to change and improve what we have. We need more people like Bergenholtz in charge of sanctioning bodies.
I know I'll be there and TeamXXXRacing too, even having to drive 4:30 each way (if at E-town).
I miss events like Nopi, Boti and NHRA were the Pros were everywhere and the adrenalin of seeing those 6's and 7's sec. runs was priceless.
