At the track the other day, I launched my car and it broke the tab off of the mounting piece that holds the CD player in the dash, this was a standard install kit from Best Buy, is there a certain brand that is stronger, or should I just buy another one and hope for the best?

 

most kits are not designed to handle that kind of stress....what you could do is when you reinstall the deck add some type rear support like a backstrap...it may help.

 

Looks like i'm in that boat too. I just posted with a similar problem.

 

I went through this in my old crx, hard lauches and stiff suspension kept breaking the mounting kit. I was never able to find anything stronger though...I didn't look too hard either.
