Default ECU Reset and other questions.

I have a 97 Accord EX with 230,000 Miles.

1. When the check engine light comes on, does resetting the ECU clear them all?
2. Is there an easier or better way of clearing the ECU other than pulling the battery cable?
3. I understand that some codes will return after a clear, especially if they are unfixed. Are some codes more significant than others, meaning they cannot be cleared, except for by a dealer?
4. Some Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) will negatively affect performance (ie..limit RPM). Will clearing the DTCs return normal operation (until the code returns)?

If this is covered in a FAQ or something, I am sorry.

Thanks for your help!

I found most of the answers here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-accord-1990-2002-2/check-engine-light-codes-cel-diagnostic-trouble-codes-dtc-malfunction-indicator-light-mil-1490107/

I tried to clear the ECU by removing the Back-Up fuse under the hood (passenger side).
I removed it for 30sec., but the Check Engine Light appears immediately when I turn the key back on.
The CEL doesn't blink. It just stays on all the time.

Is there a different way to clear the ECU on a 1997 model?
I see fuses called "ECU", but didn't try them yet.

Under the passenger side dash of the car you will have a blue connector with two wires going to it. You can jump these with a paperclip and count how many times the CEL blinks, then you can find out whats wrong with your car. Also, since it is OBD2 you can go to a Autozone or other parts house and they will use there code finder and give you the P codes, DTC codes and then you can find out what you need to do to fix your problems with the car. I guess O2 sensor or Catalyst problems.

If you turn the ign to on and don't start the car and the light is off, but comes on a few seconds after starting. You are likely to have a heater sensor circuit malfunction on one of ur o2 sensor.

This won't affect performance much. It just means that the system isn't heating the sensor to temp right away to get a good reading. Eventually exhaust hits it up on its own.
