2010 Sport Compact Drag Rules (Stadardizing rules)
I would really like to see the sport compact scene become stadardized a bit more. I have posted the "Proposed 2010 IMSTAR Rules" on www.mirdrag.com/imstar
I would like to see as much input on this thread from the Honda racers as to what could be done if anything needs to be done to tighten up things even more for 2010. The IMSTAR rules are the same rules for the U.S. Army World Cup Finals (with the exception of removing the 8cyl and 10 cyl stuff, we cant allow those cars year round to race in a series, it would be very difficult to make parity on a year round basis).
I am also planning on creating a new website for IMSTAR, instead of having it on the MIR page.
Go to www.mirdrag.com/imstar and check things out.

I think this is an excellent idea. I was actually having trouble figuring what turbo size to run for next year. Wild street is a really exciting class it seems but I think out of my league and probably for a bunch others on here that don't have the backing like some of these guys do. I ran true street last year and it was great competition and so was this year from the looks of it so that is what made up my mind to go with a 67mm turbo. IFO rules are great but Jason is right if we could get standard rules across the different events it would be easier for us. honestly the true street class is what made me decide to really get my car going for next year. If IFO doesn't want to change their rules which I could understand why they wouldn't I mean they have had those rules and they have worked out great for a while. I will still race IFO also even if I have to run againt 72mm 26'' cars doesn't scare me a bit because anything can happen in racing.
In for S/S weights.
The class was really competitive, even with the heavier cars on radials/not fully using what the rules previously allowed. I hope it isn't going to be too conservative.

Jason, thanks for your continuing efforts to expand the sport we all love.
Is it possible to include E85 into the rules as well as gasoline? It is becoming a pretty popular fuel.

There's really no need to change the IFO rules. If you fit the Imstar rules, I'm sure you're within IFO rules. Realize that every location is different. Example, there aren't the same amount of racers in say Oklahoma or Louisiana as there are in Maryland. Creating another class at some locations will only split up the few that might be needed just to fill up one class. Also, half the tracks on the IFO tour don't even have scales.
That was pretty much what I was also thinking about the IFO races. Still giving us a place to race with great classes Cliff thanks.

Miller is right, all other drag cars are made to fit the same rules within a few tweaks here and there.
My dad still knows all of the classes he used to be in off the top of his head, that's how long they've been around and they are still that way so long as the class is around.
It may suck for a few people having to change a thing or two, but it really sucks to have a bunch of people changing a few things each season.

We need to work on stabilizing class names too, so many different names confuses people even if the rules are the exact same.
I think everyone want to see this happen but look at the outlaw classes:
one allows wheel bars, one does not
one can remove rad support, one can not
So who has to change there setup and who does not?
Would it be along the lines setting the rules around the current 8s cars?
Also I though this was the whole point of the NSCRA to get everyone is line with each other.
