Spoon dc2
Let's see some pics. There are tons of pictures of every color ITR Spooned out on here, just have to look through the color specified threads.

Spoon does make some nice/decent performance parts, but don't jump on the Spoon wagon. A lot of the parts Spoon sells are made buy NGK and Desmond, such as wires and wheels. It's almost like they have everyone brainwashed that if they don't have a Spoon part for every part Spoon makes for a car, then it isn't a real track car. All I'm saying is, buy the parts that will really make a difference, don't be fooled by tons of others out there who pay the bills to the people who own Spoon Sports. Remember though, it's your money, your car, do what you want.

Spoon marketing campaigns are usually small and remarkably ineffective. It is the efforts of their supporters and enthusiasts across the world that have got their name out, and this phenomenon is frequently a puzzle to the owner of Spoon Sports.
The owner has been known to tell people not to buy a particular part because they are wasting their money, and he has been known to guide people to other companies because he might believe that the other company makes what the enthusiast should be using.
Spoon raced the DC2 ITR in N1 in Japan and got to be experts with the car, got to be experts at designing small parts that would help them get an edge. Sometimes these parts will make a lot of sense for the typcial racer or track driver, like the baffled oil pan that they were the first to make. Other parts, like the heavier shift rod under the car that they designed to help a particular driver, are parts that are extremely quirky and eclectic, expensive, and of limited value for the typical owner...and Spoon will be the first to tell you that.
I'm taking the time to say all this because Ichishima is frequently astonished at the following that he has in North America, and the popularity of his parts.
He doesn't brainwash people.
Spoon just makes the parts, usually for their own racing efforts, and the availability of the part for retail sale used to be a virtual afterthought. Parts are these days designed deliberately for the idea of retail sale, but it's a relatively new thing to Spoon product development. Ichishima and his employees are real enthusiasts much like you are yourselves.
The JDM N1 Series was basically a stock homologation series.
So you'd have to spend time and money researching parts that were legal but might still give you some kind of edge.
Some of these small parts are expensive and a little silly for USDM road use, like that heavy shift linkage part that goes under the car. The sole purpose of the design was to help one driver get his shifting done faster and more precisely.
It gave the edge it was supposed to give.
But it's kind of silly to spend that kind of money on that kind of part on a roadgoing car in the USA.
:-)
And I'm sure Ichishima would tell you that himself.
More than one Spoon owned car has been spotted with Mugen parts on it. If a part already exists that will do the job that they need, they're not going to waste time trying to do it better.
That big and very expensive aerodynamic top for the S2000 is another example of a piece that was designed to give a Spoon car a little edge. It works on their race cars...it does and did what it is supposed to do...but people at Spoon are shocked that Opak are able to sell these things to people who put them on their everyday S2000's.

Exactly. It's not a race to see who makes better parts; it's a race to make faster cars.
I like where this thread is going, Overall its your car. your money and your choice.
Just be sure to put those parts to use and drive that thing!! don't let it be a show car that only see's some parking lots.
put those race proven parts to use!
And here is a Spoon EG with Mugen wheels.
