How many Honda owners to change headlights?
How many Honda owners does it take to change a headlight bulb?
Just one, but with a lot of cursing
Does anyone else find it a pain to change the headlight bulbs?
One went out of my used civic 2005 and luckly I keep a 32inch tool box in my trunk.
Its a royal pain to take out the three screws without a flexible screw driver or an angled screw driver.
Why do they hide it in there? Don't they know bulbs burn out every six months?
And the front turn signal bulbs! Forget it! I had to remove part of the frame.
In my old car, it took me a few minutes.

Ummm I have an 04 and all I had to do was twist the bulb unplug the connector, plug the connector to the new bulb, twist it back into the headlight and you are done. I did not have to take out any screws like you did...

You guys have headlights that last 6 or 7 years?
I said headlights. I mean the two bright things in front of the car that uses 50 Watts each.
Well, I've only had the used Civic for seven months.
My old Nissan Sentra had headlight bulbs 9003 that burned out every six months.
Yup, twice a year. I keep records.

you dont have to take out screws to replace your headlights...
You unplug the bulb, take the rubber gasket thing off and push that metal wire in and up. Then the bulb comes right out.
You must not have put very good bulbs in your sentra if they died in 6 months.

if you can get your hand down there you just gonna turn the bulb counter clockwise and pull it out, same as the taillight bulbs, takes 5 minutes, unless your hands are huge, lol
either way i have a 2001, the car is over 8 years old, i've owned this car now for 3 of those years, to the best of my knowledge my headlights have the original bulbs. If your bulbs are only lasting 6 months, then something is causeing the buylbs to burn out, either that your using crappy bulbs.

Well, with my current 2005 civic. The connectors were well rusted, so it just may be the original bulbs.
In my Nissa Sentra, it did burn out once or twice a year.
I live in the northeast, NJ, and we don't get much sunlight here. So most of the time I have to have the headlights on. Not just for me to see in the dark, but for safty reasons being the sun is at a very low angle much of the year.
And as for voltage, the electrical system was very weak. It was 11.8VDC at a red light and 12 to 12.5VDC at idle and neutral. Driving on a level road, I got 13 to 13.5VDC. So I really doubt it was voltage.
And FYI I get bulbs from auto stores like autozone, strauss, the usual. Standard bulbs from slyvania.

even my h11 foglight bulbs have been good for 2 yrs now.
check the spring clip on your lamp housing. if it's not putting adequate force on the bulb, the bulb might not be getting enough cooling.
Know exactly what you are talking about the very FIRST time you change them, especially the one on the passenger's side (behind the battery). You can move the reservoir for the drivers side. A tip that will help you: Use a stubby phillips screwdriver just to loosen the screws a little bit (don't take them all the way out) and then like others have said rotate the bulb holder counterclockwise about 1/4 turn. And switch to Honda dealer H4 and H3 bulbs instead of the 9006 low and 9005 highs, these tips will help next time.
OK. I got it.
What happened before was that everything was rusted tight like glue. Now that things have been loosened, it works like people described. Now it rotates, it didn't before.
Still a pain because you have to move things around.
Thanks.

i had to change my 'side marker' bulb. peeled the inner fender plastic out reached up changed bulb put it together finished.
headlight bulbs look tricky.
but you should check your battery voltage. i seen a crv recently with 16v while running and we couldnt figure out why the bulbs where burning out so fast.
