6.5" Component Alpines into 93 civic hatchack door?
Hey, I just picked up a new deck and a set of 6.5" component alpines and was wondering if anyone could give me some tips to putting them in door?
Where should I locate the tweeter?
Should I run the new wires that came with the speakers? (the existing wiring is original)

you can use the factory wiring. they should plug in the same. If the 6.5 is not factory size, you will need speaker spacers to keep the magnet from hitting the window. you can put the tweeter in the door if you want to drill holes.
If not you can get factory sized speakers, that are aftermarket, and have tweeters in there. they have mids, lows, & highs. Hope this helps.
Good Luck
i tried to put pyle 6.5 in my door (ej1 coupe) and they were too big. managed to rig them but i dont know the original size
I think it was like 6 1/4". Just get ones that fit, your wiring and if you install sound deadening will improve sound more. If you need bigger speakers, put 6x9s in the back. Makes a BIG difference in quality.
1.They should fit right in. the next size down is 5 1/4 thats way too small.
2.The tweeter can be mounted on the door panel if you dont mind drilling or better if you have power mirrors, you can put them on the mirror cover panel thing
3. 6x9 speakers will not make a BIG difference in quality. Rear speakers are merely fillers and thats their only purpose, to FILL and provide background. Plus some eg hatchs didnt come with rear speaker provisions.

with alpines you have to space them out like someone else said, or else the window will not go down all the way and they will fit but depending on the speaker you may only get 2 screws in instead of all 3. but with component speakers you HAVE to run them with an amp. an after market deck still does not provide enough power to the cross over and it will heat up, melt some components and stop working. so with that said you have to run speaker wire from an amp to your doors etc
Look at the specs of the speakers and get an appropriate amp

Ok, I figured as much. I got a deal on a 300w 4ch. alpine amp, figured I would stick with the same brand. I'm going to hook up the deck but pay the hundred dollars to have the shop install/rewire the amp and door speakers. The lifetime warranty it so better safe then sorry.
Thanks for the insight guys

Depends on the series you have that might not be strong enough to power them either, the higher end ones are more power hungry. You can bridge since you only have two speakers, that will help a lot.
