Why do so many people have painted hoods? What exactly is the point?

 

are you talking about the stock color on the hood? or the black hoods you see....well...if it is the second one, they painted it to make it look like a CF hood, unless it really is a carbon fiber hood, which is used to lighten the car by a good 20-30 pounds...but this is only if my assumption on what your question was is correct...if not, then specify a little more!

 

yes, thats what i meant. Like a red car with a black hood. Just my personal opinion, but it looks like crap
