Bad electronic air control if car turns off when uplugged??
So i'm trying to get get my idle pefected but when I unplug the idle control sensor plug the motor dies immediately...also when comming to a stop and let off the throttle the idle will hang around 2k no bobbing or anything just sits right there until i blip the throttle and then it will settle down to around 1k .. is this b/c the sensor is going bad? I've already cleaned it out with a carb cleaner and replaced the fast idle valve, completely cleaned out the throttle to new looking condition and replaced all gaskets and o-rings thanks for the help guys
if the idle changes when you disconnect the sensor, thats generally a sign that its working. that being said the car should not die completely. you may need to adjust the idle screw to make sure the car idles at about 4-500 rpm with the iacv disconnected. then plug in the sensor and it should idle at 750.
since you are on s300 you might want to check your target idle and iacv duty cycle. depending on where they are set, the idle could be higher or lower. also be sure to cehck for any vac leaks, etc.
