Where are you mounting it in the car?

I've noticed some do lose some pickup in some cars, but others do not.

The GoPro HD's suck compared to the Contour HD camera's.

I fitted up my Ducati 1098S with one just last weekend. A buddy of mine told me about them. Here is his video shot with the Contour HD @ 30fps....

That link doesn't show sound quality, but it is far superior to the GoPro's. You still get wind noise, but about half as bad. I'll throw up some of my vids in a few days if I ever get free time....

With the Contour HD (There are two versions) you can adjust the resolution and screen size. There is no wide angle lens that I know of.... not to say one doesn't exist for it.

I have the 1080p Contour HD. It just came out about a month ago. The more common one, which was used to record the videos above, is the 720p model.

the contour HD seems to be much better from what i have seen. Better quality and much better sound.
And the contour is wide angle.

"Description:
- HD video at 30 fps OR SD video at 60 fps
- Removeable MicroSD allows you to record up to 8 hours
- 135 degree wide-angle lens captures all the action
- One button recording
- Rechargeable lithium ion battery
- Laser alignment
- Mounts virtually anywhere using patent-pending TRail Mounts "

Those are the specs for the 720p version.... the 1080p *new* version is a little bit different

The Contour HD 720p starts at $279 and the 1080p is around $349 or so.

I just ordered one of these. The GoPros are cool and handy, but the sound sucks and video is ok. Looking for something a bit easier to record with too, this deal has a nice small remote to start/stop. Fumbling with the on/off and record button on the GoPro is a pain.
