hello i was hopping maybe some on has already done or seen a k series motor in a 77 civc. and if so i would like to now how much the fire wall needs to move and whats the biggest problems they had?

I'm in Kemptville and working on a 76. Going to do an EK swap. I'm just getting started but I'll have to stop in to Kingston sometime when I get it on the road. It would be nice to know someone close by who's running a 1st gen too.

What's weird about you saying that is that barely a few years ago, Asheville/Raleigh area was the mecca for 1st gen Civics for the South. There are so many people in NC that have these cars, I can't believe it.

 

Are you sure? I remember maybe 5-6 1st gen Civics in the last 15 years. 2G+, yeah, we've had a lot of those.

 

Very sure. Between Raleigh and Upstate South Carolina there were so many folks who ran their 1st gens in SCCA. There was a website out several years back showing about 10 folks from that area. I've ran into several people at the Pull-A-Part down here from Charlotte. I see Ebay ads quite a bit from the same areas. There's even a guy that does nothing but restore Homda 600s.

 

Well as you can see in that link I did not have to cut the firewall. I am at the point were most of the fab is done just have to put it all back together. if you need any info in your journey feel free to PM. good luck.

Dropped the engine off for rebuild yesterday. Still need to redo the interior and exterior but the nice weather is going to get me motivated. Still lots to do but I should be on the road this summer. My brother in law in Kingston is going to help me install a cruise control. Maybe we can set something up when I do that. Send me your cell number. Mine is 613 612 8429.
