Icon2 Check Engine Light Problem Please Help

i know i'll get bashed for this cuz everyone is just gonna tell me i should just read and search but whatever i really need help.... i just got this 1991 Honda EF Hatch with a JDM B16A and as i was driving home my dumbass went from fourth back to third doin like 50 on the interstate and stayed there and thougt i was in 5th i know pretty friken stupid huh.. but as soon as i did the check engine light came on so does anyone know why this happened?

check the code, that would be a start.

and when you say you went from 4th back to 3rd i assume you weren't like at the top of 4th gear? just trying to figure out if you revved the engine past redline.

nope it didnt rev past redline, how do i check code on the car?

pull up the passenger carpet and read the blinking red light and get the codes from the FAQ section...!!!

alright, so like long flashes would be tens like 10, 20, 30, etc... and short flashes would be like 1, 2, 3, 4 etc... right? and the red light will blink like that? or do i have to do what that dude on this post is saying about putting wires in the plug and watching the CEL flash? https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...list+CEL+codes

You can put wires in there and read it like that..One long flash would be 1 and then four short flashes would be 4 making it a code 14. Does that help you undertand?

oh question... the dude i just traded for this EF Hatch emailed me and said that the car i traded him which was a Del Sol Automatic just jumped time and wont run... i feel bad but i didnt know it was going to do that... and my CEL is on do ya'll think i got screwed? or if i screwed him? which i didnt mean too cuz i didnt know it was going to jump time

Not a problem and **** happens bro. Just be more carefull next time. I would not say you screwed him if the car didn't have an problems of that sort when you had it/did not know it was coming but I can see why he is pissed. That is something you and him will have to work out.

yeah i guess i aint gonna worry about it he probly did something stupid cuz i had the car for 4 or 5 months with no problems but oh well get my tags and title switched to my name tomorrow morning and to driving .... i'll have to put some pics up of the hatch when i get the camera to even turn on... i thank ya'll for the advice and all that

hopefully that works? but theres the EF Hatch guys its a little dirty on the inside just got it today and didnt really have time to clean it and my camera died on me so this is all the pictures i could get till i get some batteries... let me know what ya think positive and negitive thoughts

judging by the way the car looks the guy you traded was a ricer and he probably drove your old car home with it on the number 1 gear before finally messing it up...!!!

no its not my daily, i have a ford pickup for my daily driver lol as seeing i work in construction and i need a truck

just clean it up a little bit, i dont think i'll mess with the motor for a while try to get it de-riced haha raise it up just a tad bit do some interior work a little since the dude painted the inside blue, i might just keep the steelies on there or maybe find some nice roto's to put on idk, i really dont know what to do to make it look JDM
