i know i'll get bashed for this cuz everyone is just gonna tell me i should just read and search but whatever i really need help.... i just got this 1991 Honda EF Hatch with a JDM B16A and as i was driving home my dumbass went from fourth back to third doin like 50 on the interstate and stayed there and thougt i was in 5th i know pretty friken stupid huh.. but as soon as i did the check engine light came on so does anyone know why this happened?
check the code, that would be a start.
and when you say you went from 4th back to 3rd i assume you weren't like at the top of 4th gear? just trying to figure out if you revved the engine past redline.

alright, so like long flashes would be tens like 10, 20, 30, etc... and short flashes would be like 1, 2, 3, 4 etc... right? and the red light will blink like that? or do i have to do what that dude on this post is saying about putting wires in the plug and watching the CEL flash? https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...list+CEL+codes
You can put wires in there and read it like that..One long flash would be 1 and then four short flashes would be 4 making it a code 14. Does that help you undertand?

Not a problem and **** happens bro. Just be more carefull next time. I would not say you screwed him if the car didn't have an problems of that sort when you had it/did not know it was coming but I can see why he is pissed. That is something you and him will have to work out.

judging by the way the car looks the guy you traded was a ricer and he probably drove your old car home with it on the number 1 gear before finally messing it up...!!!

pull up the passenger carpet and read the blinking red light and get the codes from the FAQ section...!!!
