Maintenance Req'd Light wont reset
My wife has an 01 Civic EX coupe. I've been doing the maintenance on the car for the past several years and I manually reset the Maintenance Req'd light when it comes on. However, this time it refuses to reset.
I hold the button down, turn the key to position II, wait a few seconds. The light goes out but then it immediately comes back on.
It's had this problem for many months but I don't look at it every day like my wife does. She no longer even notices it. But I would like to take care of it if anyone can help out.
I don't have an OBDII scanner, but I figure that it would probably throw a CEL if it was something serious. She gets 38 mpg mixed driving and it passes the smog test which is an OBDII scan.

I guess you have to pay the extra just for the dealership to "Inspect" your car and to see if there is anything wrong.
I'm at 98K and my Maintenance light is on, but I just ignore it. I think that's just their way of saying "FREE MONEY DOING NOTHING!" haha.

that light really isn't tied to anything but a counter that tells it to come on after a certain number of miles. if you were throwing a code it would trigger the engine light which is a completely different light. keep trying it you have to hold it down for over 10 seconds it sometimes takes a couple of tries.
Try disconnecting the battery for a minute, put the positive back on, then try what you've been doing by holding it down in the II position, i've turned it off by holding it down when it was running, but maybe Integras are different. Also, I think the Maint Req light comes on every 7k miles..
