problem with a 91 lx

problem with a 91 lx
ive been having problems gettin this car to run...it starts and cuts of as soon as i let go of the key...if i hold the key in the third position it stays running??...ignition switch maybe? im kinda stumped any info on similar problems from anyone will help.
