ok im building a b20b for my dd and weekend warior im leaving the bottom end stock might put some rs machine pistons in to bump up the comp and im looking to get crower cams 403's or 404's but with it being my dd which cams would be better for daily driving 403's or 404's???? i tried searching but no luck....
thanks in advance

Impossible to answer with any certainty until you tell us what compression ratio (which pistons) you are going to use. The 404s are good cams, but they do best in a fairly aggressive build.

my bad well the website says 11.8-12.2 depending on which head i go with. the pistons are based on itr pistons. would that be to high of compression to run on a dd.

I am building the exact same setup
depends on what head you are using
it would be beneficial to use P8R head because of its high flow characteristics
but expect a lower compression ratio by 0.5 comparing to ls p75 head because P8R has larger combistion chamber
for now i am short on cash but i willbe getting rs machines pistons yield around 10.8 to 11.2 with the p8r head
let me know your progress on your build

ok vanny will so far i have a b20 with itr oil pump, jg throttle body, p&p intake manifold, itr knock header, and 2.5 exhaust waiting on some time to drop it in then im going to drive it for a while before doing the bottom end and head...might start up i build thread
Also, if you can, save your money, build the bottom end so it can handle anything you throw at it, even if you can't afford to build the head at the moment. You can always build up your head later, but I'd recommend to build up your bottom end so that once you have the money for your head and cams, you'll be already set.

yeah i know its wierd how honda/acura prices are the itr list price was cheaper then the gsr (like $5-$6) so i went with that im making a list now for the bottom end...
As far as cams, I choose to use 404 cams because my goal is to make more than 200whp
I am not saying 403 is a bad idea, but when you spend the $$$ to a build, you want to squeeze more power out of it.
and with 11:1 static compression ratio, it is just perfect for the 404 cams to operate..
As far as driveability, I am worried about the idle for 404 too.. I hope it will be better after a tune

jumpin in im tryna do a b20/vtec setup but i need to know if a 300-350-400whp is possible without the car being a none streetable.. I know Id have to resleeve i think and i plan on using a turbo

Go with 404s if you keep the non-vtec head. There was a real nice thread about a 200+ whp non-vtec build on here a month or two ago; you should search for it. It has some interesting information about headers. IIRC, the builder is a tech at King Motorsports.
Best of luck with your project.
