honda civic/integra rear lca bolts
hey i know that the honda rear lca bolts seizing is quite the ordeal
has anyone ever tried to use any other types of bolts that "might" not seize?
i had some spare time today so i went and researched some of these bolts. There seems to be actually 3 different types of bolts honda uses back there
90173-sr3-003 ribbed bolt pointy tip, used in all three spots on the rear lca of 99-00 si/Sir's
90173-st7-z01 solid bolt i believe, used on the lca to trailing arm i believe
90172-s04-003 solid bolt blunt tip, used on integra shock to lca
i thought they were seizing because of the ribbed bolts cause water gets trapped then allowing it to rust and seize, but i have seen the solid bolts seize/shear too. All of these bolts were coated/treated when i went to the dealership to look at them. Has anyone ever used any other types of bolts? or does everyone just use lots and lots of antiseize?
i was just curious and it was a slow afternoon

Everyone just uses gobs of anti-seize on brand new bolts, but not until they're already upset over how difficult it is to take off the 15 year old seized in place stock bolts.
yea i thought maybe someone might have thought to try a bolt taht was made of a different material. I guess you just can't escape it, it is what it is.
thanks
