Default B16 internals into LS??

Alright so i've had the misfortune to have my differential go out in my LS tranny. I got a buddy that sold me all of his cable B16 internals since he had a busted case for CHEAP! I've been in a real bind lately and would REALLY like to make this work!

Now will the diff work in my LS tranny and is it possible to swap the 1st-4th grears from the gearsets onto the LS sets with the LS 5th gear?? And I believe the shift fork on the B16 gearsets is possibly broken, are there any way i could use the LS one? Or if anyone knows where i could find one to purchase.

I would GREATLY APPRECIATE any and all help in this matter! Thanks guys!!

your questions are not clear. Hydro/Cable? A gear set is two gears that mesh with each other, one on the main shaft with the matching one on the countershaft, or the final drive set,(countershaft and ring gear set.) You should not mix used gears in a set, as they have a matching wear pattern.

Gears are not interchangable.

The diff is, but is weaker than the hydro diff.

Sorry for being unclear. Both tranmissions are cable. And what i am asking is if i can use the differential, gearsets, and shift forks from a B16 cable tranny in my LS tranny. My diddferential has gone out and bought all of the B16 internals to rebuild it with.

Unfortunatley the middle B16 shift fork is broken on one of the ends. Would it be possible to use the shift fork set from my LS tranny with the B16 gearsets or would i need to find another B16 shift fork?

I hope that is more clear than before. And i REALLY appreciate any help you guys can give me! I'm clueless about rebuilding trannys!

The one in the car is a 91 LS and i dont know too much about the internals from the B16 tranny. But i know it is cable and the guys is pretty sure its out of a 91 but he said it might be obd1 instead of obd0. How much of a difference would that make?
