Default new motor! sohc zc in ef sedan

got the motor!! questions tho... it says "zc 4wd..." does that matter? also look at the dizzy plugs, mine are white and dont have the mounting bracket, possibly from re-pinning for MPFI?

other than that things look cool, a tad of rust in the oil cap threads and coming out of the thermo housing.

please tell me to take more pix in case anything is different.

i dont' think the 4wd matters, because its bolted to a fwd. so you're good there. and the dizzy plugs are different because sometimes people take off the mounting brackets.

looks good.
finish the install!

not only are the in a different location(mounted), they are a different color/shape than my plugs. im HOPING i can just splice the wires into the zc plugs and be done with it.

ALL of the plugs and clips are on the motor haha so im glad for that. also there is a plug on my thermo housing that i DONT have on my a6 thermo housing. you can see the plug on the TOP pic just under the dizzy plugs.

other than that, the only differnece is the shape of the intake manifold...its bigger towards the back/bottom. injectors are all there, freakin throttle cable is still there.

oh but its missing the downpipe of the exhaust manifold so i have to use my a6 exhaust mani until i find a 4/2/1.

i only have one complaint about the company i picked this up from...

i called them in advance telling them i should be there around 12, i then asked if it would take time to load it up and if i need to give advance notice. (so they could package it), they told me "no its fine, just come down.".

so i get there and i see the motor, they write me up, take my money then out comes the forklift. i asked them "hey are you gonna pallet it?" and the lift operator says "no its almost lunch time, the pallet guys are on lunch and im about to go on lunch also." i asked "will this be ok in my truck?" he replies "i dont know".

so yea, lame customer service.

swap the internals from the zc dizzy into your dizzy. thats a pretty simple job. alot easier that wiring.

i guess, but i called about 2 hours before i got there specifically asking if it will be a long process to load and if i needed to give advance notice. i told them i'de be there at noon, whatever as long as the **** turns over i can care less.

if anyone wants a full K24 swap, they got one, bunch of b16b and b18c5's too. amazing assortment of trannies and longblocks.

but yea its clean as hell, the hose pieces that are left look brand new...but i saw some rust coming out of the thermo housing so i dunno bout that. no signs of leaks anywhere tho...

probably means that it came off of a auto vehicle and if it did then you know that the motor wasn't pushed hard at all...if your unsure just use your old flywheel and transfer all the external parts from the d16a6 to the zc...it also states on the website that they use nuxudol inside the motors to prevent rust...!!!

i think its safe so say that since there is no rust in a location that housed only water...the internals of this engine is gonna be in pretty good shape.

and yea the valve cover says AT

Ok....a sohc ZC is just like a usdm A6 engine with a different can, thats pretty much it! From i can see, i guess its a OBDI

Also, since it came from a 4wd sedan with auto tranny, no problem. Use a 5 speed tranny and bolt up a flywheel and clutch assembly, it will work just great.

You will have to address the obd issue though

what do you need to see to tell its OBD?

i cant see the stamp! the heat shield is covering the spot with the PM stamps.

if this is obd1, cant i just use my dizzy, fuel rail/injectors and just be done with it?
