Default HID Install

I bought an 09 civic as a daily since I had (I hate thieves) a built integra. I didn't want to spend much on it but I thought I'd do a little to make it stand out a bit. I installed some hids tonight and love them they work great at night. Just thought I'd share some pictures of the install.

Its cleaner than the pictures show, I tucked the wires back and zip tied them.

The temperature is 6000k, pretty much white with a small hint of blue but I was going for more function than form.

What HID's did you buy and how much. Do you have to re-level the lights once installed?

Will these plug and play and HID show off threads ever end?

Plug and play HID is more form than it is function.

Hey thanks for the good post. How is this form over function when there was an improvement in my visibility?? Yes I understand its not as good as a retrofit but the car isnt even 6 months old and has a warranty. I'm not looking to spend $300 on parts then hack up my 2009 headlights. The HIDs i bought aren't mercedes or cadillac but they provide better visibility than the sylvanias that were in the car. This is a daily driver as stated above, not a toy. If something was to happen to the car that required me to get work under warranty done I could swap out my plug and play setup. If you don't have a post worth reading then please stay out of my threads.

Your visibility has improved at the expense of people in front of you. It's form because it's plug and play and most people who do plug and play are after a look or bling.

Even by your own omission

Please don't play the warranty card, a retrofit IS NOT going to throw a wrench into any warranty claim, unless YOU physically messed something up. Even then swapping something out so you can get one on the man is lame and unethical. By law the part(s) must cause or contribute to the cause for which the warranty claim was sought.

Do things the right way or don't do them at all.

I love finding you plug and play guys on the road, I love to hit you guys with my HID spot light.

You may have an argument if this was a technical post, but all your post is "hey look at me aren't I is special?"

I just want to swerve and hit cars head on who run pnp HID's... I hope you crash your car, hopefully you have insurance and the second time around you won't waste the $200 on HID's.

I think the only time pnp HID's look decent in our cars is when the Kelvin rating is proper to Lexus and Mercedes i.e 4500K or 4200K. Granite 4500K and 4200K pnp and with no projector will still blind people but at least it will look somewhat like a stock HID setup. The ones you have on your car are 6K and OEM does not come in a 6K rating. I had to learn the hard way back when I didn't know much about the Kelvin rating. I bought 12K and couldn't see my hand in front of my face, totally useless. I sold the kit and went stock. So see if you can swap your bulbs for some 4500K.
