Hey guys, I have a 97 Civic DX with d16y7 manual transmission. Head gasket is blown and engine is toast, need a shop that will do an engine swap for cheap. I just sourced a stock 1998 d16y7 so it will be a simple direct swap.

I know that b-series swaps are super duper cheap nowadays, I'm sure this straight swap will be a tad bit cheaper since it's so easy to do. Anyone know if a place in the San Jose area? Also willing to drive out to the east bay like Hayward, Oakland to get this done. LMK if you guys know any decent shops around, thanks.

 

DC projects will be the cheapest around and they do hella good work there seriously check it out or give them a call the numbers in my signature

Can you really go wrong with this swap? I'll check out DC Projects, I hope they can do it for ~$400

 

do you have the motor and everything? like everything its a complete swap with motor mounts and everything?

I would be extremely wary of a shop willing to do this for $400 labor.

 

...why can't you do it yourself? You can buy the tools and an engine hoist for under $400 and do it yourself.

 

Already got a cherry picker and tools, done way too many swaps in my day, just lazy/busy :T
