so i traded my ef for a JDM d15b vtec EG. Unfortunately the O2 sensor was not hooked up so i need to get this done before i smog. SO heres the problem, the car has a 5 wire$(red white orange yellow black) o2 sensor but the engine harness is only a 3 wire(green yellow white). I also have a spare o2 sensor with a 4 wire (2 black green and white). so how should i go about wiring this o2 up? or should i find a 3 wire o2?

which ECU are you running? that will determine which O2 you need and how it's hooked up.

 

im going to be using a p28...

4 wire for a P28.

 

The 5 wire is for very new vehicles. 06 and newer.you need a 4 wire O2 and the harness is missing a wire.

I'd hardly call a '92 VX new. 5 Wire wideband O2 sensors have been around at least that long.

Hard to say. There were no 3 wire setups so chances are good it was a 4 wire setup with a missin wire. Should be an orange wire with a black stripe IIRC.
