Default Battery Relocation, Fuse size?

I relocated my battery to the trunk and neglected to put a fuse inline from the positive side of the battery to the front of the car.

What size should I look into?

I'd like to get a breaker style setup, so if it pops, I can simply reset it.

05 S2K.

Thanks in advance.

A fuse is not necessary if you didn't add any stereo components.

The amp is already fused, but I'd still feel comfortable w/something on the positive side feeding the alt. etc.

Yeah, good idea to fuse the positive cable at the battery, for should the cable sheath ever get worn anywhere and make contact with the chassis you want the fuse to blow and not the battery. 80 amps should cut it if you don't do something silly like try and start your car with all your accessories on (hi and low beams, HVAC, wipers, etc) but I'd probably double check with an experienced stereo shop installer.

What are you crazy???

An 80 amp breaker is what you want. Put it as close to the battery as possible. I bought the one on my civic used for like 10 bucks off the forums. They have them all over ebay for pretty good prices.

i'd go a lot higher than 80 amps. and i would run at least 1/0 gauge to the front of the car. but that's just me.

knuconceptz has awesome pricing on wiring/fuses/distribution blocks etc.

I've got all kinds of electronics in my civic and have NEVER blown the 80. Don't go higher then you actually need.

Only time I've blown a fuse (80 amp fused battery in trunk of my H22 Accord) was when I stalled it trying to drive backwards up a steep hill in the snow at night. I tried starting the car while I had hi and low beams, driving lights, wipers and HVAC blower on full Hence my warning above.
