Why change fuel? Are you currently knock limited?

Pro3's would be great.

i remember seeing a build similiar to this, RM made some custom cams and made more power than the toda d's. you should hit him up

i believe it was humble performance. maybe some one on here can vouch for it

thanks for the offer JDogg, but the manifold i have on this head is Square ported to match the head, if i get ur RLZ head i'll have to get a new manifold, not looking to do that.

I remember hearing about this motor, but was this 309-319 at the wheels or at the hubs?

Can you please explain?

Your peak BMEP is dictated by how knock resistant the fuel is. If you are reaching MBT before knock, no other type of fuel will make 'more' power.

There are certain alcohols that will have a cooling effect as they phase change from liquid to gas, like Ethanol and Methanol, but the gains resulting from that are minimal at best.

I would try a tune using E85 if that is available near you. It should support your compression and power, and save you a few bucks compared to race gas.

oxygenated fuels carry extra oxygen, need extra fuel and can make extra power if the stored energy is there.
extreme example=nitromethane
lower energy rate then ordinairy fuel but has a stoich somewhere near 2:1
perfect (but extreme) example that fuelchoice can have a affect on poweroutput.
also, faster burning fuels that require less timing (achieving pcp at the same crank angle) can also increase power by reducing counteracting forces btdc

True, there are many other energy carriers that can make more power by volume, or carry more oxygen, or reduce pumping losses. I am sure most of us are aware of other fuel sources or energy carriers, just as he can run methane gas or switch to diesel or run a hydrogen fuel cell.

I should have been more candid in my statement, as it was focused around what we consider gasoline, and how in terms of gasoline (with a minimal spread in energy density accross all types), power output is dictated by MBT, of which the knock resistance of the gasoline is the limiting factor.

yes go w/ the Pro 3s and vp q16 its leaded and oxygenated

one of RLZ's new cnc ported b series heads would be a nice upgrade as well

I didn't know there were oxygenated gasolines anymore... learn something new every day!

Q16 is NHRA/BOTI approved?
