Default Replace the Valve Cover Gasket?

I'm going to be painting my valve cover and I was just wandering if it would be best to replace the gasket before I install it back on?

I am in the process of the same thing. When I had the SOHC in my car, I painted it black and did not replace the gasket. Nothing leaked at all. I even did it a 2ed time and had no problems. However when I paint the DOHC, I WILL BE replacing it. You can just try out the old one again (save 20 dollars)...if it leaks, replace it.

In my case when i painted mine i used some gasket maker instead.. the amber one works really good and there is no leaks.
