I have been told by a couple diff people that the newer style pro1 cams you do not have to degree them? Is this true, and if so does anyone know the start of the manufacture date. I didnt degree mine and is wondering if there is more power to be made, I think there is anyways.

you have to degree them regardless. its not the production process that causes this. its the fact that there are too many variables in everyones setups to just be able to swap them in and make peak power.
I emailed sk2 about the "new style" pro1s and if they need to be degreed, they said they dont have any new style pro1s and you have to degree them...
[qoute]"Thank you for contacting the Helpdesk at Skunk2 Racing.
There is currently only 1 version of the Pro Series Stage 1 camshafts on the market. While there may at one point be camshafts developed with altered indexing that will be closer to factory camshafts, you will always want to degree in your camshafts in order not only extract maximum power, but to verify proper valve to valve and valve to pistons clearances as well."[/qoute]

I have had at least 6 cars that have dropped in the cams are 0,0 and made the most power there with the best idle. The boxes all showed "V3" on them, which is the version 3 revision of the cam that does not need to be degreed. Sounds like some of the Skunk2 employees might not know what is going on with their products?
