it sounds like there's a nice exhaust leak in my accord.. could this be it? its fine if im driving normally but if i put it under some strain or accelerate too fast then it gets loud

(actually, now that i think of it there might have been an extra hole on the header for a pre-cat o2 sensor, but i'll check that later.. this has recently gotten a lot worse)

edit: there's a little oil on it from the oil change thats why half of it looks shinier

 

nah, you would see black soot on the flex pipe if it were no good. put the car up on jackstands outside and get under it and have someone rev it and listen for a leak. once you get a general idea of where it is use your hand or a feather to pinpoint the leak.

 

From the looks of it, your flex pipe is fine. I would check the header.

 

alright thanks guys, there's some soot on it, and i could see through it pretty easily so i wasn't sure, but i'll check the header this weekend and get back

 

it's leaking form the top of the flex pipe.. i had my brother in the car tonight while i felt underneath the car. i could feel it pretty good on my hand, without a feather, so i'm guessing thats where the noise is coming from. it also sounds a lot more like it too now that i've been listening. thanks for the input!

Good to know you found the source of the leak. Beware though, there could be more then one spot it is leaking from, check from underneath the car to see if there are any more dark black/burnt spots where leaks have caused damaged.
