I wouldn't believe it until I see it...and even then no one would know. But really, who cares anymore?

It's the equivalent of Honda crying "wolf."

This rumor isn't new. There are rumors of a sports car in development that replaces the V10 super car that was suppose to be the next generation NSX. Its rumored to have a 450hp hybrid V6 engine instead of the originally proposed v10.

But Honda's CEO has categorically denied and dismissed any claims of the continuation of the NSX project. He said that the project has been tabled indefinitely, and will not resurface again, until he has a good solution for the global fuel crisis, and when Honda is able to produce a full line up of hybrid vehicles.

Having said this, Honda has been known for having "black programs" where they develop technology under super secrecy.

This is the picture of the rumored hybrid supercar:

Why would anyone want a hybrid supercar?

The "new" NSX should be a $40-50k mid-engined competitor for the Porsche Cayman, not a $100K poor man's 599GTB.

I also don't see why anyone would want a hybrid hot hatch (CRZ). If it's an experiment by Honda, so be it...but I think hybrid drivetrains should be confined to egg-shaped commuter cars and crossover utility vehicles.

Hybrids are not a long-term answer to our fuel problem and I am puzzled as to why Honda seem to think so.

Honda knows that a hybrid isnt the long term solution to the fuel crisis. Thats what the FCX clarity is for. While waiting on mass production and increase supply of hydrogen and filling stations, the hybrid doesnt have to wait and offers an immediate solution.
Also honda will not make a mid engine rwd supercar again. It will not allow them to race in F1 (no more NSX).

If you ask me i would buy a 450hp hybrid supercar from honda if its ready by when i get out of pharmacy school.

I do believe Honda will not be the same. But I refuse to believe that Honda is Done! I have a tattoo of the Honda Symbol on my arm and as long as there is dedicated followers like the people at Honda Tech. The Honda company will give us what we want. PS After all, most of them are in it for the money and Honda Junkies like me will pay for it!
