Rough Idle, Missfire, Loss Of Power
Hey guys,
So my car (Prelude) ran perfectly fine driving from school yesterday then after I started her up again she started to idle really rough. Sounds like it's missfiring. I'm posting on the accord forum because i'm running a JDM F22B (F22B1).
After stalling like 4 times i got her in the garage. I immediatly checked the plugs witch are still in fairly good shape and the distributor was firing on evry cylinder.
I just finished checking the timing witch is good and the ignition coil that reads within the honda specs. Rotor and cap seem fine also.
I tought that it could be the ignition coil but after letting her cool she still idles really rough. U can smell gas near the motor also as if she wasnt burning it all.
Anyways I'm just wondering if any of you guys experienced similiar problems and could help me pin point what is wrong.

Have you ever checked / replaced the fuel filter??
Is there any fuel leaking out of the joints / hoses??
Possibly a vacume leak..... sorry I'm not much help but they are a couple of things I would look at. P Adams or muffin man might be of better sevice to you I'm thinking.

Is it just one cyl going bad or is it randomly misfiring? While the engine is idling rough, unplug/plug the cable from the sparkplugs one by one: if the idling gets worse or the engine stalls then that cylinder was working, if no change in rough idle when unplugging a spark plug cable then there's a problem with that cylinder.
-Pull wires one by one to see which cylinder is misfiring.
-Spray carburator cleaner around your intake manifold to check for air leaks.
-Do a compression test (probably not compression though)
-If you find the cylinder that's missing, unplug the injector to that cylinder and see if the gas smell goes away (could be a leaky injector)

thx guys for the replies...
turns out it was my voltmeter that is bad...borrowed a good one from my boss and the ignition coil from terminal A to terminal B reads 0.1 ohms when honda specs are 0.4-0.6 ohms
getting a new iginition coil tommorow hopefully it fixs my problem
