Default how come my vtec is weak?

what would cause a weak vtec engagement? I can hardly feel my vtec kick in I can hear it though but when it kicks in its like a SOHC. What can be wrong with this thing? Its a b20b block with a b16a head everything came from hmotorsonline.

Take it to a shop with a professional tuner, put it on a dyno, and have it tuned.

I ported mine to 50.80mm, thats 2" for the slow people. I added synthetic VTEC fluid, made a huge difference.

the b16 head could have come from an auto trans car. the cam profile is different than ones that came with a manual trans. try to get it tuned asap.

Weak VTEC engagement means one of two things:

1) you don't have a VTEC head
b) your engine is properly tuned

If you want to feel VTEC hit hard the best thing to do is get a VAFC and set crossover to 7k rpm. Alternatively, you could accelerate at 1/2 throttle and then nail the gas when the engine gets to ca. 5000 rpm.

Dood it works. Also I don't mean to thread jack but could some1 tell me why VTECH engages at 5700 rpm on my GS-R. Does the lady who had it before me put in a Type R ECU?
