my 90 civic si won't start from the ignition but when u turn the key to the on position and go under the hood and and use jumper cables from the battery to the small wire on the starter it will start that way so does anyone know my problem need the help please thanks

 

when you jumper wire from battery to small starter wire, all your doing is bypassing the ignition switch to start car. so, if your car doest start when you turn the key. you might have a faulty ignition switch. also double check fuses.
