Default Hit the track last night, times still suck but the mph is whoa....!!!

Well I went to the 1/8th mile track last night just to see what the car would do before I put the new cluch and run with the slicks next week, again plus I did some more tuning and I thought it would be a good day to go and see how it all came together...
I put in 4 runs just like last time, now remember this is still on a stock cluch, and on the 17's and a full interior.

Run #1
Reaction: 1.4127
60 FT 2.2247
330 FT 6.0090
1/8 ET 8.8764
1/8 MPH 87.07

Run #2
Reaction: 1.2925
60 FT 2.5004
330 FT 6.5703
1/8 ET 9.5022
1/8 MPH 86.60

Run #3
Reaction: 1.3038
60 FT 2.3996
330 FT 6.1774
1/8 ET 9.0572
1/8 MPH 85.66

Run #4
Reaction: 0.8631
60 FT 2.4840
330 FT 6.2494
1/8 ET 9.1003
1/8 MPH 88.93

All of the runs were done at 11psi in 1st gear and scrambled to 13psi in 2nd gear.

My highest mph las time I ran was a 82.11 so I gained about 6 mph from the last time I ran which I think is pritty good...

Now my questions are:
Is my car capable of a 12 seconds at the 1/4 mile track?
How much power am I approximately making?
What would you estimate my 1/4 mile mph to be? I'm thinking about 110-112mph

From the way your 1/8th mile MPH looks, you should be at around 110mph at the top of the 1/4 mile, and at 110mph, I HOPE you're in the 12's.

yeah judging from your mph w/slicks to get that 60 ft to a 1.9 or so will easily put u in the 12's. Good runs for street tires

you'll hit some good times with the slicks next time.
But with the 60fts like that, I think thats what gave you a bit more MPH, spinning in the beginning will get you more MPH at the end. This will aid in increasing the MPH but not totally. Your car is making some great HP, all you need is to lay that to the ground.
Good luck next week.

I hope everything works out great with the slicks, I just hope I don't brake an axle the first time I'm using them.. LOL

But with race gas and some more boost I'm hoping to run some good low to mid 12's...

I guess will see what happens thou....

The question is still out there what kind of whp do you guys think that I'm making, i'm thinking that I should be close to 300hp or is that a little high???

run #1 @ 1.41 reation time...................

Did you forget to LAUNCH when the green light came on? Yes you car might be quick, but SLEEPING at the lights for almost a FULL SECOND will get your *** handed to you by a SOHC.

BTW 8.37 @ 1/8 mile = 13.09 on the 1/4, 12's are way down the road!

Last time at the track I had a 2.45 second R/T!! I have no tacho and was next to this wannabe Top Fuel Ford Falcon. I had to wait for him to leave so that I could hear my car hehehe

ROFLMAO!!!

yeah - it's like that downunder!!!

last time i was up against a supercharged V8 the commentator said (after me sleeping for 2 seconds):

"i think he was just waiting in case the car next to him got out of shape"

nah - i just wanted to hear my damn engine!!!

(i dont race to win - i race for my slips...)

((particulary against 10 second Nissan GTRs!!!))

This is so funny and ironic because every time I post my times up somebody brings up the topic of my reaction times.
And again I'm gona reply with this: This was a test and tune night and all I cared for is to get a good mph and see how good I could launch my car with that p.o.s stock clutch I still have in it.
But when it does come down to reaction times and such I will try and doo my best just like any body else would....

BTW 8.37 @ 1/8 mile = 13.09 on the 1/4, 12's are way down the road!
look at his mph though, with traction i bet he could get 12.90s or better
my friend has done 8.30s@84mph on 165cm street tires and his car runs 12s on slicks.... so the mph is there, so i guess now gearing and all that other good stuff comes in to play
