Default a6 clutch on y7 engine?

i have a y7 engine and the clutch is almost done...and i have a brand new clutch masters stage 2 clutch that i have ... will the clutch work?

It will work fine. I have a D15B2 clutch and flywheel on a D16Y7.

doesn't matter what the engine is. what tranny you have determines what clutch you need.

well ... i had a shop replace the clutch..and NOPE wont fit ..
so i had to order another clutch and try to pull another 160 bucks out of my ***

so 300 for labor and 160 for a new clutch for the 97 civic cx ..
anyone wanna buy clutch masters stage 2 clutch for a d16a6 lol

IT WILL NOT WORK !!! The A6 trans has 20 splines and the Y7 Trans has 21 Splines SRY IT WILL NOT WORK you need a 21 Spline clutch disc ... Pressure plate doesn't matter ..

the shafts have different splines..the y7 splines are more rounded and the a6 tranny splines are more triangle shaped... the pressure plate was to small and wouldn't come close to fitting the dowels on the flywheel ..the release bearing is completely different.. ill post pics of both of them side by side later on tonight

i have a 88-91 clutch master clutch kit that`s why i posted in this forum .. i have both an 97 hatch and a 91 hatch

the d16y7 flywheel would not allow the pressure plate to bolt up . the dowels were way off .. the clutch and pressure plate is smaller for a 91 civic ..

89 up all have the same spline. 88 is the only one thats different spline.

here are the pics i said id get.. the splines are different shape that's the difference

the yellow clutch is the d16a6 clutch stage 2
and the silver oem is the d16y7 clutch

the dowel holes dont line up at all in the first pic
i placed the clutches together to show the differences
