Default question on porting intake ports on cylider head?

this may be a stupid question but here it goes, would it be better to make larger ports for the intake manifold to the head to be larger instead of just port matching? what im trying to say is largen the were the IM meets the head and make the intake side of the heads ports larger and then match the gasket to it?

no, just port match it. The exhaust side is different where you want the exhaust port to be a little smaller than the header pipe inlet, for reversion purposes.

if anything you would want the intake slightly smaller than the port instead of larger. and dont use the gasket as your porting stencil. the gasket manufacturer was not concerned about port volume when they made the gasket.
