Icon2 h22 in. plenum noob q'

ive been thinking about eliminating my secondary butterflys by cutting them out with a dremel of the intake manifold to make more room in the plenum.

good or bad idea. thanks in advance...

just take the whole assembly out and if you want to go a little further you can cut on the bottom part like this it works great makes great hp.

how does a stock motor or maybe a stock motor with a set of stage 1 or so cams respond to this modification of the intake manifold?

Do you lose some midrange power by going to all long runner?

Is the volume too much for a basically stock or bolt on motor?

Thanks for the info I just know that a 252 whp h22 is gonna respond different than a stock one man lol

Mine currently is set up stock with the butterflies removed completely and it responds just as good if not better than before

if anything i would assume you would barely lose some bottom end. say from 2500 rpm and below. and its probably not that much either. would that be a fair statement Jones/Vegan?

Yeah would be fair, i might have lost some on low range like 1200-2000, but Definitely not noticeable.

If you want a rough idea of what it will be like, just lock the butterflies open and see what you think (there's a write-up on here somewhere). iirc, there was a modest loss in the low end below ~4k rpm. Cutting them out should eliminate some turbulence though and give a little better velocity.
