Default Fun ? for all you Honda Motor Gurus... Making Power with HONDA factory parts...

Now I'm no Stranger to honda performance, and using honda factory parts to make my cars faster, I've done a mini-me swap, and B18A to a 88 CRX Si. Now I just recently purchased a 91 sedan automatic, off a friend because it didn't run. I ripped the head off and cleaned the valve, cubustion chambers, and examained the Pistons and cylinder walls. Head was fine, a little grimey but not carb cleaner couldn't handle, and there was nothing wrong with the Pistons and cylinder wall as far as I could see. I put it all back together, installed nw headgasket, and torqued everything to spec. Started her up and she ran like a top! Why wouldn't she . Now how does she drive you ask? Well first I waited till she warmed up and made sure everything was operateing normally, then revved her up! She revved up slow, I figured 1.5L prolly didn't rev up like my old CRX did in stock form. Well I took it for a test drive, and to tell you the truth I was really dissappointed, from a dead stop I could floor it and it would literally creep VERY SLOWLY, then when it would get to about 3K she would open up and drive "normal. So she really has NONE, NADA, ZIP, NO LOW END Power what-so-ever. So a friend of mine and I think its probably bad rings, I didn't notice any smoke from exhaust, but the PCV Valve makes ALOT of noise idling, it could be bad but one would think there is probably a bunch of blow-by, making that much noise. So we are going to rip the head of AGAIN and this time at least replace the rings.
Which finally brings me needing you Guru's help! AWHILE back I saw a post about someone experimenting with different STOCK Honda / piston and rod combinations, and figuring out new compression ratios and what modifications would need to be done to make some work. Now I have access to honds internals like, B18/B16 rods/pistons, D-series Si Rods/pistons, and the like. Now I going to replace the rings, so I was wondering what other Honda Piston/Rod combo I could use to get a little more power, She is not going to be a racer, I just want a little power gain, but I wouldn't complain with a bit more than that either ! I can't leave anything alone, if I can make it faster with what I have I'll do it, Ask my wife she hates it! Hehe! I got this for a little fixer-upper winter car until I get my Supra. But I have to play with what I have, so I do.

Thanks.
