Default 1991 Accord Temperature control issue

I have a 1991 Accord that the cable either broke or fell off the **** in the dash. The **** isn't broken, and it isn't moving the heater core valve under the hood, so the cable has broken or fallen off...

I just wanted to ask before I ripped out the center counsel and deck etc, to get a good close look at the cables... if there was a typical spot it fall's off that I can maybe re attach?

thanks for any and all information regarding this...

should I go out and get a new cable from honda? obviously it fell off for a reason, although I think it may have just been a bit stiff, and it was forced (not by me)...

cheers
Eric

My cable was stiff and I tried to loosen it up by moving the Heater core valve under the hood. This was a mistake as it made the cable connection at the heater control panel pop off. I was able to remove the dash trim and reconnect to control ****, after removing a few things (see pic)

yeah that's what I was hoping you wouldn't say!

I put a deck in my accord a few weeks ago, so it looks like that's all coming back out again!
