i'm currently using stock cams in my B16b and wanting to know what stage 1 cams would be better. I'm a when it comes to engine internals.

 

I just want to be clear on what you are asking - are you saying you will not be upgrading the valve springs?

 

you already have something similar to an stage 1 cam, I would go for an stage 2 cams

If you aren't willing to upgrade your valvesprings and they have a lot of mileage on them, I would not recomend you change cams at all. You can run Skunk 2 stage 1 (tuner series) cams, Blox A cams and buddy club 3 cams on stock valvetrain but you shouldn't if they have mileage on them. You will need some form of tuning to take advantage of the potential power gains from any aftermarket cams, if money's an issue, I'd wait to do it right.

 

With a b16b valve train, you could go to something like BC3+.
