Default JDM ITR /type R longblock FS

JDM ITR longblock FS:
Head is stamped '95 so '96 spec motor; runs OBD2a.
Motor is 100% stock, never been opened, top or bottom. CR is good across all 4 cylinders (210-215). Motor was on the dynapack earlier this year and made 197hp with a healthy curve. The motor will be in the car until a sale is agreed upon. I'll gladly show the motor run and drive, it's been well taken care of.

Motor includes TB, IM, distributer, vtec soliniod and stock JDM ECU.
Asking $3,000

Time to sweeten the deal. I have a B16 hydro trans that I'll sell together with the longblock for $200, so $3200 for the motor and trans!

Here's the deal on the trans:
Currently dissasembled
Needs a new 3-4 hub/gear changer
Missing 2 syncro springs (I think)
Syncros are in decent shape.
Case and bearings are all good
I haven't ran this transmission. Bought it as a spare/for spare parts. I might assemble it in the near future so it's easier to move around.

I do have a matching ITR trans with a Kaaz diff and 3-4 carbon syncros. I could be pursuaded to sell it if the price is right.

Other notes- ran this motor with 100octane and synthetic oil (Mobil1 10w-30, then started using Royal Purple 10w-40). I'll also throw in a JDM ITR header. It's got a nice dent, but it doesn't leak and could still be repaired.

Well, it is a known good engine making 197whp, and the price looks about right from my research. I'm seeing full GSR swaps going for $3500, and the '98 spec swaps going for ~$4500. $3k looks right.

Bump for Zook.

Bump for Zook.
anybody can advertise their motor to make a certain amount of horsepower to sell the thing, i can say my 98spec motor with i/h/e made 197whp on a dynojet but i cant prove it unless i have a dynosheet

and gsr swaps going for 3500 and 98spec for 4500 were maybe 2-3 years ago, there's tons of 98spec complete swaps with gaurantee's from reputable bay are shops for around $3500, and gsr swaps for $2500

not trying to pick a fight but from what the market is looking like, he's asking way too much, and it seems like he's trying to get back what he paid for a motor that probably has been driven hard, no matter how much that motor has been taken care of or how many 10w40 oil changes it has gone through

I do have dyno sheets and a recent oil analysis from Blackstone labs. Both can be prompty emailed to anyone interested in buying. And again, I'll be more than happy to show the motor run and drive. I've never misshifted and it's kept the stockredline, I never messed with it. Anyone interested, please contact me.

I picked up a complete JDM 95 B18C swap for $2800. Clean and healthy as hell.

I agree. 3K for a long block is a bit much.

let him sale it for what ever he wants. guys stop harassing him. if thats the price he feels his long block is worth.. so be it! i do too have one of these bad boys in my DA and these jdm type r motor yells power with the right h/i/e combo. ive done a mild fully built B16a2, port and everything with pistons, cams, you name it and i dyno at 210whp with it. guess what... lost to my brothers i/h/e type r swap in a DA. sold my hatch and bought his DA.

my point... some one get this motor if its legit! these are prob the best made engine by HONDA. plus you dont have to worry about state reef if your planning on putting it in a integra. i use to work for the state BAR. these motor are consider engine replacement for integras, but they are not legal for civics because it being jdm. sad but truth.

get this sold! GL man...

I agree. Just my thoughts, $3k is high and $2,500 is right. And "racerzook" never mention mileage and maintenance besides oil change and it is a JDM motor. JDM motors are worth less people! Can you put it in a Civic legitimately? No. For the next guy who buys this motor, he might want to think about replacing components(clutch/t-belt/w & oil pumps) to keep it up to date. I would never buy a used second-third hand motors and not do a major service. The motor is out, why not? So money will need for that. I have a refresh built USDM b18c1 from top to bottom w/ 0 miles w/type R cams/pistons/T-B/supertech v-springs & retainers/skunk2 I/M/Exedy clutch and b16 tranny. How much should I sell mines for? I might, and you have to lose some money but that's part of the game. Keyword missing on your post, "OBO'. Hey, it is your motor.....

Thanks for all the opinions.
I'm trying to sell a motor, not start a debate. If you're not interested in buying the motor, then please save mine and your time and don't bother posting. Anyone who's interested, please contact me with any questions.

And yes I am asking $3000. I'll entertain other offers. Never hurts to ask. []

Motor will now come with a ported Skunk2 IM instead of the OEM one!

Correction. I won't have a Skunk2 IM on the engine, but it will be a ported OEM one.
