good start with lots of potential, nice line up too, id use the vtec head and when u boost it rebuild the bottom end and put the LS head back on. Just what I would do.

Just wait and build the LS for boost. The VTEC head or there's a head from the CRV that both flow better than the normal LS head. That's supposed to be better for turbo. It will just be cheaper to do it once instead of dropping the LS in and then pulling it out to rebuild for turbo.

Before you put the ls in use the money and do a fresh paint job. Painting isnt that hard (i went to school for it and it was kinda something you pick up the first few times you do it) and if you get ahold of a good paint store you can do any color you want and not get raped on price. like i said before. Car is a good start man.

A CRV head that flows better than the LS? B series? Maybe its the 6 foot tall manifold

I would find out why the gasket blew and see if its worth fixing

Having an ls wont put your head back in the seat. Having a GSR or a H22 wont do it either. Put that ls together with a thicker head gasket and buy arp head studs and buy a basic turbo kit to get the feel of boost. Then when you feel that you can handle decent power you can piece together parts to build that motor and a nasty turbo setup. Turbo LS motors pull hard as hell with a proper tune and 7-10 psi. Ive driven too many to count and personally, i love them. Thats my opinion though.

In the 2 months ill be pulling my LS motor out of my ek hatch and building it for turbo. Wanna get a freash paint job and finish up the 2000 watt sound system first. If it helps any or to give ya a idea this is what ill be doing. Wanna run tops 18-20 pounds. Price range is about 4500-5 grand do it yourself to give ya basses for the price. Head work will brian crowler stage 2 turbo cams, brian crowler valves, brian crowler retainers, brian crower springs, and port polish job. Skunk2 intake manifold and skunk2 fuel rail with a walboro 250 fuel pump feeding it with 550-750 cc injectors not sure yet. Cometic headgasket and all new gaskets and seals. Cp pistons and menley rods on a a stock craft micro polished and blue printed. obx radiator and all new hoses. Not sure what turbo to get yet have do some research for which one will best compliment my set definetly a ball bearing one though. Good luck with your build and thanks for serving our country and always
be safe man.

^^^ dude h22,gsr, ls will definitely "put your head back in your seat"
It just depends on your definition. This guys sig says he'll be swapping a k pretty soon. I think his definition is not the same as ours
