NEED HELP FAST WITH B20Z2 BLOCK
ok so i got a car and its got a b20z2 block in it. i dont know what its from but can i do B20vtec with it thats all i want to know. If you can do it then great and thats all i want to know but if it isnt possible then i cant use it. the only reason i question myself is cause i hurd a long time ago that a certain b20 block u couldnt not do b20vtec with. thanks..
Yes, you can build a b20v with that motor. You actually lucked out since thats the high compression b20. So you really dont have to change pistons if you are doing a budget build.
Ok cool thanks thats all i wanted to know. as far as high compression goes. what can that bottom end do? i got a b16a2 head and its stock.
ok cool thanks. so they seem to get decent ratings for what they are. Now if i buy those what are my option for rods?? i want to be able to rev it to 8.5k all day without a problem??? so would i have to get itr rods or am i going to have to go with eagle or something else????
You dont have to change the pistons, you would be correct. The only issue is the rod bolts and bearings will need to be replaced, Put in an upper cylinder brace while you're at it so that when you put in the sandwich plate for the vtec you can shift higher than 8000rpm.
