A little resto job!!
I finally got some free time at the shop so I decided to start showing love to my rex. I had a little quarter panel rust that I took care of.. On with the pictures and sorry for the bad quality.. I took them with my blackberry..
Where it all began.. damn rust man

Cutting out the nasty stuff

Getting rid of the original sealant which was all messed up

The donner was an 08 Honda accord fender!! yay Honda metal!

Took the time to spray a little undercoat to prevent any rusting.. dont mind the egay exhaust..

Cut out the templete and tack welded it onto the car.. I know the welding can get better

Another shot of the patch

I heated the metal and did all the bends with the assist of a body hammer. Its good to make relief cuts to help curve the metal. This way you can make the body lines with the patch instead of using 50 pounds of bondo to make the body lines

Not bad for my first time fixing rust.. It took a bit of work to shape all the lines into the metal

A little fiber glass.. this new stuff is so easy to use.. just poor it and spread it. No more mixing chemicals.

A thin layer of body filler to smooth things out. Not much was needed since the lines were kept pretty well.

To all the guys that are scared to do this type of thing at home.. I say to just take your time and pay attention to detail. It was my first time patching rust and It wasnt as hard as I thought. Dont let them go to junkyards!! and I hope you guys enjoy my little resto.. sorrry if the pics are too big..

Thanks for the comments guys! Sorry bout the pics I tried to resize but blackberry sucks. Yea I'm happy with the result. As soon as you see it bubble fix it! I let it ride and it got bad. I found that's its the honda sealant that causes that rust...
