wierd coolant leak. please help!
okay this coolant leak is driving me crazy. i have a 91 hatch. just put a 98zc d16y7 in it. used my old IM, TB, dizzy, alt, ecu, etc. Heres the problem.
when I start filling the coolant up, it leaks out the back. I cant seem to pinpoint it exactly but it seems to be coming from under the intake manifold by the thermo housing.
I replaced the thermo housing gasket, checked all the hoses and it still leaked. I thought for sure it was the o ring on the inlet pipe on the thermo side so i replaced that. I put a little rtv on it as lube so it wouldn't twist. It still leaked.
i thought maybe I put the intake mani gasket on wrong so i checked that and its good. still leaking. the intake mani gasket is for the 90 but that shouldn't matter right, since i'm using the old intake mani?
This is driving me crazy. where could it be coming from. Has anyone had this problem? any suggestions? It's not a slow leak either, it just runs right down the back and makes a massive puddle. Please help. And I did search, found a couple threads with similar problems, but I'm out of ideas.

If you can't see where it's coming from,
you might try a cooling system pressure tester..
You can "borrow" them at some auto supplies...
The added pressure might help determine the source..
Either by sight or "feel" with your hands..
A small mirror and a powerfull flashlight might also help..

also (I am not familiar with D series) but did you recheck the hoses and gaskets going to and from the FITV and the chingadera on the firewall side of the IM( if applicable)
yeah it leaks without pressure. i just pour it in the radiator and it runs right out the back without the car running. its not just a drip drip drip. its running out. its right under the intake mani i think. like near or behind that black box. on the thermo side. just cannot pinpoint it. i did just get a mirror yesterday so im gonna try that. i triple checked all my hoses. ive had the thermo housing off several times.
i mean is there a possibility i have a hole in the block or some crazy chit like that. ive heard ppl telling me to check freeze plugs or soft plugs. never heard of this on a honda.
been driving my purple f150 and its killing me on gas. please help.
